At a summer camp retreat, a group of high school-aged teenagers snuck out of their cabins in the middle of the night. Despite camp safety rules—and signage that warned of danger—the boys took a paddle boat out on the water alone. The boys didn't realize—until it was too late—that staff at the camp had removed the drainage plugs from the bottom of the boat. The boat began taking on water, and two boys drowned. Tragically, a third boy also lost his life trying to swim out to save the others.
