Calling All Youth Artists! Logo Design Contest for 2022 NAE4-HYDP Conference

Hello artists! The Wisconsin 4-H staff will be hosting the National Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals Conference in 2022, and we need your help! We need to develop a logo for our conference – our theme is “Four-ward Together.” The logo will be used on many different pieces of promotional materials, social media posts, apparel, print materials, and more! If your design is chosen, it will be viewed by around 1,000 conference attendees and many thousands of 4-H staff around the country!

We hope you’ll submit a drawing/graphic idea for our contest! Here are the rules:
1.  Entries must be submitted by 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5 using this google form (https://forms.gle/SiWMpahvmGMaWdU28).
2.  Entries must be in a jpg, png, or pdf format.
3.  Entries must include the conference theme (Four-ward Together) and use the NAE4-HYDP logo (https://www.nae4hydp.org/default.aspx).
4.  Entries can be created in any medium (pencil, ink, computer, etc) but should be designed to be used with a variety of applications (print, social media, apparel, etc.)
5.  The NAE4-HYDP 2022 Conference Marketing Committee reserves the right to make changes to the selected logo.
The winning logo designer will receive a prize from the Conference Planning Team and will be recognized for their work before and during the conference (October 2022).
Remember, entries are due by 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5!  Contact Dawn Vandevoort (dawn.vandevoort@wisc.edu) or Jill Jorgensen (jill.jorgensen@wisc.edu), if you have any questions!

Shooting Sports

A dedicated team of volunteers will be offering shooting sports opportunities this year. Youth participating in this program must be in 3rd grade or older and be a registered 4-H member.

Archery and air gun classes will be from 5:30-7:30 pm every Tuesday and Thursday in May at Izaak Walton League, N6491 County Trunk K, on the east edge of Fond du Lac. Fee is $2.00/person/night.

Bring payment to the first session. Make checks payable to FdL County 4-H Leaders Association.  Discretionary funds are available for those with financial needs. Contact Pam at the Extension Office. Please call Shooting Sports Coordinator, Dwight Paulin at
922-9805 or 920-266-6114 to sign up for these sessions. Leave your name and telephone number.

When you registered through 4Honline, you completed a health form. Please update that form, print it off, and bring it to the first session. A shooting sports code of conduct will also need to be completed. Read it over with a parent. If you agree to the guidelines, sign them and bring them with you. Parents are invited and encouraged to assist.

Equipment will be provided if needed.  If you have your own equipment, you may bring it.

YQCA Training Online

As a requirement to sell at the Fond du Lac County Market Livestock Sale, all exhibitors, regardless of year in school will need to be YQCA trained and certified.  Because of current extension COVID-19 restrictions in place for larger groups, Fond du Lac County will not be hosting an in-person YQCA certification this year.

To become certified, please visit http://yqca.org and complete the online training by signing in using your 4H online username and password.  For FFA members, you can set up your own account, or use the account you established last year.  The fee for YQCA training is $12 per person, and individuals must do their own training.  A family cannot pay for one individual and share the same training.

YQCA will count 2 points toward the minimum 8 points needed to qualify for the Fond du Lac County Market Livestock Sale.  To receive credit, please complete an Activity Points form online at bit.ly/fdllivestockpoints and upload your certificate.  Exhibitors must upload the certificate to receive credit for YQCA.
