Heroines and Heroes of Light: Survivors of October 7^th

Join Federation and our partner, Pozez JCC of Northern VA, for a unique opportunity to hear from Daniel Wais, Orin Bokobza, Sharon Ana Yakobi, and Bar Vilker, survivors of the October 7^th attacks. Hear their stories as they unpack the complexity of life in Israel today and the importance of Israel to the Jewish people.

Share your Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Opportunities

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, which began as a commemoration of Dr. King’s birthday, is now the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service. We’re compiling MLK Day of Service opportunities (in person and virtual) to help encourage and empower our community members to make a difference! Celebrate Chanukah as a family with PJ Library of Greater Washington and Federation partner, Pozez JCC of Northern VA. Connect with other families and read Chanukah stories, spin dreidels (a spinning top used during Chanukah), and enjoy milkshakes or hot chocolate at The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar!

Virtual Chanukah Candle Lightings

Light up the night (virtually) during eight nights of Chanukah with Federation partners, Bender JCC, Edlavitch DCJCC, and Pozez JCC of Northern VA. Whether or not you have your own Chanukiah (candelabra lit for Chanukah) to light, please join us each night as we spread light throughout Greater Washington.

Candle Lightings at Union Market

Join Union Market and various Jewish organizations throughout DC during Chanukah for a Menorah lighting each evening. Each event is free and open to the public; lightings start at 6:00 PM on Neal Place outside of Union Market’s front entrance.

Registration for D25 Day of Service Now Open!

Join Federation partner, Edlavitch DCJCC, for the December 25 Day of Service, their largest volunteer event of the year, with hundreds of volunteers spreading holiday cheer across the DC metro area. Choose from a variety of projects based on location, type of activity, or time of day – there are options for people of all ages and abilities!

Summer Camp Grant Applications Now Open for 2024!

One Happy Camper grants for summer 2024 are now available! First-time campers are eligible for up to $1,000 from The Jewish Federation and the Foundation for Jewish Camp's One Happy Camper incentive grant program. If applying for a child who attends day school, your application must include a valid PJ Library Goes to Camp Code (for more information on this, please contact pjgtc@hgf.org).
