Larger scholarships available for first-time 2025 summer campers!

There’s nothing quite like summer camp — except summer camp with even more new friends. This year, Federation is awarding larger scholarships to more local first-time summer campers than ever before, thanks to an expanded grant pool from the Foundation for Jewish Camp. Applications are open now! We can’t wait to see more children and teens experience the impact of Jewish summer camp.

A more inclusive Jewish DC for young adults

A year of learning has begun for local Jewish organizations working to improve their support for young adults with disabilities, thanks to the partnership between Federation and Matan. As Federation’s Lisa Handelman, Director of Inclusion & Belonging, notes, “[this] is a step in the right direction for improving options available for young adults with disabilities and making them feel valued wherever they may go…this is part of that longer vision of being the type of community we are and want to be.”

Stand Together with the DC-area delegation
Join the Greater Washington Jewish community — and thousands from across North America — as we mark one year since the historic March for Israel. Together, we’ll demonstrate our commitment to unity in the aftermath of the October 7th attacks and the unprecedented spike in antisemitism that followed. $2M in 2 Years: Doubling Donations and Impact
Last year, our Jewish Community Foundation launched the Donor Advised Fund (DAF) Partner Agency Matching Program to infuse Jewish Greater Washington’s partner agencies with unprecedented support, and have distributed $1.1 million since it began. Today, grantees are reporting back incredible impact.  

Impact in Action: George Mason University Hillel has scaled their local career mentorship program. The project pairs Jewish community members with Hillel college students for career exposure and professional development support. The program engaged 200 individuals over the summer and is making progress toward its mission of retaining the best and brightest in the North Virginia Jewish community.
