You’ll receive advice from UChicagoGRAD, Office for International Affairs and Chicago Center for Teaching and Learning advisors as well as faculty from a range of institutions in the US and beyond. | NSF GRFP Summer Workshops
Week of July 28: M/W/F, 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Week of August 11, M/W/F, 12:30–3:30 p.m.
Week of August 18, M/W/F, 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
These three-part, one-week workshops are designed for rising second year doctoral students who intend to apply to the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. Eligible Humanities fields include Archaeology, History of Science, and Linguistics.
During the workshop, students will learn to: interpret the NSF GRFP solicitation, distinguish intellectual merit from broader impacts in the research statement and personal statement, and approach the essays from the perspective of a GRFP evaluator. Students will consult examples of successful applications and reviewer comments in the course of the workshop.

| Sun Safety & Skin Cancer: What You Need to Know

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. In most cases, it can be successfully treated if caught early. Join us for a conversation with Dr. Martinez Escala about the importance of recognizing warning signs. We will have experts offering free skin exams, lunch, and raffles for attendees. International Allies Peer Mentorship Program
The International Allies Program, run by the IGSAB, is designed to provide support, community, and resources for international graduate students. The mentorship experience is expected to start at the end of July and continue through the academic year to help incoming students during their transition.
