Hi All,
Now is the time to explore your Sparks in 4-H. As we begin the second month of the new year there is an opportunity to look toward the spring and summer months as an chance for 4-H members to develop that passion. I think of the upcoming Family Learning Day as a chance to explore what projects 4-H has to offer and learn more about them.
The summer is also an opportunity to develop your spark through some of the 4-H educational experiences. Space Camp focuses on STEM, Citizenship Washington Focus is about leadership development and citizenship, while American Spirit is about learning through history. Summer camp will also offer some opportunities to explore youth sparks for our younger members.
Summer Academy is about offering youth SPARK tracks to learn what it takes to have a career or hobby in a field that fits them the best. These tracks are:
Arts & Communication Leadership & Civic Engagement Agriculture & Animal Science STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Human Services (Head, Heart, Hands, and Health) Construction & Trades Hospitality Management & Culinary Science
The Animal Sciences offer many spring and summer opportunities to develop their Sparks through education such as quiz bowl, judging, speaking and more. I would encourage all of you to take advantage of these opportunities to Ignite your Sparks in 4-H!
Please feel free to contact me with questions,
Marie Witzel 4-H Youth Development Educator marie.witzel@wisc.edu 920.386.3790 (office)/920-210-3080 (cell)
