Chalk-on-the-Walk Moves to Friday

Hosts of this popular sidewalk commentary contest have moved it to Friday, in expectation of better weather. All students are invited to chalk a social, political, or other message in the Oak Grove. The event opens at 9:00 a.m., and judging begins at 4:00 p.m. First prize gets $100. Chalk is provided, and all participants receive a free T-shirt.
President Michael Driscoll offers condolences on the death of Norman Bova, a student from Wilmerding who was completing his teaching certification. He died April 23.
UNIVERSITY NEWS
The IUP Academy of Culinary Arts building project will receive a second grant of $1 million through a commonwealth program that supports projects with a regional economic impact. The funding will aid construction of the academy’s new main facility in downtown Punxsutawney.
