Sustainable Technology Solutions Competition

Demand and interest in tech jobs are outpacing the supply. With that information in hand, the Rutherford Works Information Technology Council has created the Sustainable Technology Solutions Competition. This competition aspires to introduce and increase interest in IT pathways among middle school students. During this competition, students will be challenged to think critically about a problem facing our community, utilize science and math skills to find a solution, develop a prototype by making connections between technology and design and work in teams to strengthen collaborative and social skills. The big problem students are tasked with solving will be revealed on October 1 and students, plus a sponsoring teacher, will have until November 22 to submit their solution and accompanying notebook. Help us spread the word to students and teachers that might be interested in solving a real-world problem through technology.

TCAT Launching

NCCER Electrical Apprenticeship Program

Join Rutherford Works on October 17 for an informational session on the new NCCER based electrical apprenticeship program created by TCAT Nashville. In hopes of launching a similar program at TCAT Murfreesboro in January 2020, we are calling interested employers and industry partners to a session where we will cover topics such as program curriculum, length, cost and participation requirements.

If you have employees that you would like to send through this program or want to learn more about how to participate, please join us at 4:30 p.m. at TCAT Murfreesboro, 1303 Old Fort Parkway.

Reconnect Ambassador Training

Want to assist adults looking to continue their post-secondary education? Tennessee Reconnect aims to help make the return to college or technical training an easy transition by encouraging them throughout the process and directing them to the tools available to successfully obtain a credential, certificate or degree.
