Join in the Energy and Excitement for Fall!
Dear Lancer Fans,
There is a reason you go to high school when you are 14 years old! You need that endless energy to keep up with all of the student activities!
Freshmen have found their way around campus and had their first dance. Sophomores and juniors are facing rigorous academic schedules, and are counting down the days until fall break! Seniors are traversing the college admission landscape from Get-Out-of-Town workshops to early decision deadlines. We are well into a fall semester of energy and excitement ..Read more.

Homecoming Spotlight: Greetings Lancer Nation!
In a few short days, we will welcome back Salpointe alumni from the classes of 1957, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1987, 1997, and 2007 for their reunions. For some, it is their very first Salpointe reunion and for others, it is their eighth! Although all experienced many different eras of Salpointe and our ever-changing world, I think they can all agree that “Lancer Life is Forever.”
We will kick off the weekend Friday night with a Homecoming celebration in Foundation Hall and Commons Plaza. All alumni, parents, students, and friends of Salpointe are welcome and encouraged to join us for the festivities! Enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner from Sal’s Diner and stop by the cantina for a cold drink. Take a chance on a raffle basket from the Salpointe Parent Association (SPA), listen to the sounds of the Salpointe Catholic High School Alumni Band and our Homecoming DJ, get an SC stick-on tattoo, and feel the Lancer spirit from our mini pep-rally featuring the pom and cheer teams and drumline before the game! Don’t forget to wear your Salpointe gear and show your Lancer pride! All alumni get 10% off alumni items during Homecoming Week. If you are in need of some new Salpointe clothes and accessories, they will be available in the Spirit Store during Sal’s Diner and in a booth on the south end zone during the game ... Read more.

 Additional AED Donated
Big thanks to the Gootter Foundation and Fiesta Bowl Charities for donating another Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to Salpointe. There are now seven AEDs located throughout campus. When students take exercise science classes, they are taught CPR and how to use an AED. Coaches and Athletic Training students are certified in CPR and AED use. Teachers are also being educated in hands-on CPR and AED. An AED accompanies all away football games and home cross country meets, as well as some extracurricular activities. AEDs are essential in preventing sudden cardiac deaths.

Alum's Friendship with Cancer Survivor Comes Full Circle
Salpointe becomes intertwined with this beautiful story of a young boy, Jake Olson, who battled cancer as a child. With his love of football, he became friends with the University of Southern California football team back when Kris O'Dowd '07 was playing for the Trojans. He quickly became "Uncle Kris" to the boy and the story came full circle in recent months when Kris was there to see Jake called in to snap for his first time as an official football player for USC, wearing the same number 61 that Kris wore. Don't miss the update of the collegiate football player Jake is now.

CARMELITE VALUES IN ACTION
Kino Teens Continue to Serve and Support Border Initiatives
On September 18, eight Kino Teens went to serve at the Kino Border Initiative comedor in Nogales. Serving at the KBI Comedor provides Lancer students the real-life experience of serving the most vulnerable, hearing the stories of the migrants, and practicing the works of mercy. The powerful experience of humble service to those who are vulnerable (and sometimes victimized) becomes a transformative and empowering catalyst for Salpointe. They see the face of Christ in a deeper way and are resolved to build a more just and humane social response to the reality of migrant and refugee issues. Read more.
