UC Alianza MX provides funding for UC graduate students to complete research stays of up to three months in Mexico, with the objective of supporting the pursuit of research objectives that are focused on topics specific to Mexico.

The UC Alianza MX call seeks proposals for projects that advance evidence-based solutions to shared binational challenges between the U.S. and Mexico through action research and engagement with non-academic stakeholders. Eligible PIs may apply for up to $150,000 in funding for up to 24 months. Funds may be used to supplement existing fellowship support.

UC San Diego has drafted responses to some of the most frequently asked questions related to federal updates as a way to keep the Triton community informed in an evolving landscape. Michael Pratt and James Sallis from the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science and Tarik Benmarhnia from Scripps Institution of Oceanography co-authored a March 2026 Nature Medicine and Nature Health series. This exhibit explores the work of André Kim (1935-2010), the country’s first male fashion designer and a pioneer of international cultural exchange using original garments on loan from André Kim Design Atelier (Jung-Do Kim), along with archival photographs, newspaper clippings, magazines, books and other documents. His designs contributed to the visual foundation of the Korean Wave (hallyu). As part of the exhibit, there will be an international workshop, Histories and Cultures of South Korean Fashion in a Globalizing World, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, 10:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in Geisel Library, Seuss Room.
