Graduation 2024

Under sunny skies on July 26, 2024 we celebrated three Cheerful Helpers' graduates and recognized two additional students who will be saying a big goodbye to Cheerful Helpers.
July is always filled with double dipped feelings as we reflect on our students' growth during our shared time together. In addition to our graduates, we also take time to acknowledge the parents and their parallel learning process while at Cheerful Helpers, making new connections with other parents and discovering new tools to support their children's growth. The culminating theme in the classroom is birds. Our graduates decide on a bird that represents them. During the graduation ceremony, students put their chosen bird's likeness on the tree. The tree represents the school community. The metaphor of their taking flight at this time is a long held Cheerful Helpers symbol and tradition. We are also recognizing that the real foundational home is, of course, with parents who, hopefully by graduation, feel more deeply rooted to a solid and containing ground.
The Cheerful Helpers' mission includes the phrase 'empowering the entire family to achieve their potential for life-long growth.' We take this goal seriously and feel privileged to work with children and their families.

We are excited to start the 2024 / 2025 school year with 15 students. In Rebeca's classroom 2 new students will join 6 returning classmates. Tatiana Padovan will be Rebeca's everyday assistant.
Erin will be joined by a new teacher, Maria Lainez. Maria has recently received her Masters in Special Education from Mount St. Mary's and we are excited to have her join our team. Erin and Maria's class will start the year with 7 students: 3 returning and 4 new. Jason Cho will continue as the classroom's everyday assistant.

Cheerful Helpers' volunteer, Shayla Page, created a summer camp slide show featuring some of our camp activities. We were excited to have Shayla join our camp team. Fun fact: Shayla's great aunt (Farris Page) worked at Cheerful Helpers over 30 years ago!
