Dear Middle School Families,

I hope this letter finds you well and that you are enjoying a wonderful summer. As we approach the start of a new school year, I am excited and grateful to be joining the St. Michael's community as Middle School Director! It is an honor to partner with you, our amazing faculty, and our dedicated staff as we strive to help our students identify their genius, recognize their potential, and move toward actualizing it.

From my first encounters with the St. Michael's team, I have been truly impressed by the talent, knowledge, and level of expertise that our Middle School faculty and staff bring to our community. These champions of education have set a high standard, and I feel incredibly fortunate to learn from and collaborate with them. I owe a ton of gratitude to my predecessor, Jessica Stargell, for assembling such a remarkable team and for her outstanding work as Middle School Director. Jessica's efforts, dedication, and vision have provided an excellent foundation for us to continue building upon. Her leadership has left a lasting impact, and I am grateful for the solid groundwork she has laid.

In partnership with school leadership, faculty and staff, and our students, we will continue to build a community where everyone feels a sense of belonging, is comfortable taking risks, and is supported in becoming the best versions of themselves. Our collective efforts will ensure that our students are learning in an environment that allows them to thrive in all aspects and are well-prepared to take on the challenges of high school and beyond.

As part of this partnership, I invite every Middle School family to meet with me one-on-one. These meetings will give us the opportunity to discuss what makes our community great, identify areas we can strengthen, and explore how we can work together to create an enriching and supportive environment that allows your child to thrive. Your insights and perspectives are invaluable! My goal is to meet with every family by Thanksgiving Break, and I encourage you to reach out (jwilliams@stmschool.net) to set up a meeting. Given that our eighth grade students are the leaders of the Middle School, I hope those families will be some of the first I get a chance to connect with in these sessions!

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve the St. Michael's community and to partner with all our families. I look forward to the journey ahead and to the many successes we will achieve together. Thank you for your support and commitment to our shared mission. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
