2022 Community-Wide Yom HaShoah Commemoration Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington (JCRC)
Each year, Federation partner JCRC brings together thousands of participants, representing over 100 synagogues, churches, interfaith partners, diplomats, and elected officials, for a community-wide commemoration to ensure the history of the Holocaust is preserved. This year’s keynote speaker is survivor Josie Traum.

The 21%: The Lives of Arab Citizens of Israel returns to JxJFest this year! Join a screening of Cinema Sabaya, followed by a conversation with director, Orit Fouks Rotem, and lead actor, Joanna Said, about the contemporary experience of Arab women in Israel and the role of the arts in bridging societal, religious, and political divides.

6 Million Steps Campaign and Holocaust Museum Tour
Israeli American Council (IAC)
6 Million Steps is a coast-to-coast walk intended to raise awareness, keep the memory of Holocaust victims alive, and fight antisemitism. The walk will start at the National Mall and end at the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC, where there is a group reservation to visit the museum.

Mimouna Festival of Good Neighbors at the Smithsonian
Sephardic Heritage International DC and the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art
The Moroccan-Jewish festival of Mimouna marks the end of Passover with the first leavened foods, festive sweets, and wishes for a successful season. Enjoy live music, live moufleta (Moroccan-style crepes) cooking demos, and other traditional foods, and break the fast of Ramadan with Muslim neighbors. Also enjoy a special tour of artworks related to Mimouna that express the interfaith themes inspired by the Mimouna culinary festival.

Join Federation partner Edlavitch DCJCC and fellow knitters and crocheters at the steps of the EDCJCC building on Sunday, April 24th, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, to make handmade items to distribute to individuals experiencing homelessness in the DC area.

Earth Weekend Park Cleanup
Join Federation partners Moishe House Fairfax and Moishe House Arlington on Sunday, April 24th at 10:00 AM to celebrate Earth Day weekend with a park cleanup at Barton Park near Moishe House Arlington. The Moishe Houses will provide gloves, bags, and snacks.
