Your fall tuition and fee bill will be posted to your student account in Workday on July 1. If someone else (like a parent or family member) is helping you pay, you need to give them third-party access in Workday so they can view and pay your bill. Set up their access here: Workday Access for Families.
Each month this summer, there will be important items you need to complete to ensure you are as prepared as possible for your first year. Some items on the July checklist include:

Connect with a 2nd-4th year student |
A 2nd-4th year WashU student has emailed to invite you to have a conversation in July about your transition to WashU. This is a fantastic opportunity to get insider tips and start feeling right at home in our community. Be sure to set up a time for this conversation!
Registration for fall 2025 courses will take place via Workday beginning July 9.
You should already have been in contact with your academic advisor or academic division. If not, please respond to their email to schedule a meeting as soon as possible. You cannot register for courses until you have met with your advisor.

Build dialogue skills through this one-credit course |
College is a time for you to encounter new ideas and perspectives. While this can sometimes be challenging, it’s also an important part of your personal and intellectual growth. Be sure to consider the Dialogue Across Difference (DxD) course. It helps you build essential skills like critical thinking, civil discourse and respectful dialogue—tools you'll use well beyond the classroom.
| "DxD has been an incredible opportunity to engage with my peers in the WashU community on relevant topics that we all share a variety of perspectives on. I highly recommend this course – there is so much value in bringing social issues and real-world discussion into the classroom setting."
- Bella Gomez, Class of 2026

View your housing assignment |
Your 2025-2026 Residential Life housing assignment, including your roommates/suite mates, is now available on the Housing Portal.
If applicable, reach out to your roommates/suite mates via their WashU email(s) to introduce yourself and discuss what items you will bring to the room or suite. View our packing list for suggestions.
We do our best to meet students' room preferences. If you wish to request a room change, you can access the Room Change Form via the Request Forms tab on the Housing Portal. Room change requests will not be processed until after the first two weeks after fall classes begin.
Incoming first-year students are not permitted to move in early.
WashU has partnered with GradGuard to offer renter's insurance to students. To obtain renter’s insurance, use the Request Forms tab on the Housing Portal. Residential Life strongly recommends that all students obtain renter's insurance prior to their scheduled move-in date and time either through GradGuard or another provider of their choice.
Until September 5, you have the option to adjust your meal plan by completing a Meal Plan Change Request Form via the Request Forms tab on the Housing Portal.
Meal plan changes can affect your financial aid package. Follow up with your Student Financial Services Counselor prior to submitting a Meal Plan Change Request Form.
Visit WashU Dining Services to learn more about the different meal plans offered.

| RSVP for Parent & Family Orientation |
If your family is traveling with you to St. Louis for Fall Welcome, we invite them to attend Parent & Family Orientation. They must RSVP for Parent & Family Orientation by Monday, July 28 at noon CT if they are attending in-person events or assisting with your move-in.
For families unable to join us for Parent & Family Orientation, we will livestream Parents as Partners and record the Deans' welcome sessions. Livestream and recording links will be available on the Parents & Families website.

| Health & well-being updates |
All WashU students must complete the following health and wellness requirements.
-
Submit your vaccination/immunization record and health history form.
- Students who have not completed this requirement prior to move-in will not be allowed to enter their residence hall.
- Choose a health insurance option. All students are required to have health insurance and will be automatically enrolled in the WashU student health plan. Students with personal or family health insurance coverage may waive out of the university’s plan.
- Waiver requests become available on July 1 and must be submitted by September 5, annually.
-
Transfer prescriptions to the Quadrangle Pharmacy, located on campus in the Student Health Center - Danforth Campus.
-
Make plans to continue mental health support/counseling, if appropriate.
During Fall Welcome, you will have a chance to join career communities—industry-focused spaces that inspire confidence as you make decisions about your future. They are a place to explore careers, connect with career coaches and alumni, and feel a sense of belonging. By choosing one, you aren't committing to a specific path. Which of these communities most interests you right now? Indicate your preference on the Bear Beginnings Questionnaire in Workday.

Mailing items to WashU? Use your Mail Stop Code (MSC)!
When sending items to campus, do not include your residence hall name. Instead, use your MSC number to ensure your package is routed to the correct location. Think of your MSC as your campus "apartment number" — it helps our Mail Services team get your package to your assigned mail center as efficiently as possible.
USPS, UPS, FedEx, and other parcel services deliver to your WashU campus mailing address.
You can find your MSC and mailing address through your housing assignment in Workday.
Here's how to address your mail:
First and Last Name
MSC XXXXX
6515 Wydown Boulevard
St. Louis, MO 63105-2215
Mail Services will begin accepting packages on August 1. Please do not send items prior to this date.
