Hi Neighbor!
Ahhh wine. I cannot tell a lie. I love the stuff! I didn't always like it. As a kid I wasn't really a fan at all (growing up in an Italian family, we were allowed the occasional glass of wine).  Even as a young adult, I wouldn't say wine excited me. I enjoyed the occassional glass of white wine - but red wine was really not to my liking. Then I hit 30. Don't ask me why, but around the age of 30 I started to really enjoy wine. My tastes also seemed to go from enjoying white wine to enjoying red. I'm far from a wine connoisseur - but over the last 20 years, I've really started to learn about the wines that I enjoy. I love medium or full bodied wines with the flavors of spices, currants, berries, chocolate...  I do NOT like to taste leather, smoke, wood or tobacco in my wine. That about covers the depth of my wine knowledge! :)

Whether you simply enjoy an occasional glass of wine, love all types of wine, or have a specific favorite -  wine is a wonderful thing, meant to be enjoyed with family and friends. And you don't have to live in California or Tuscany to learn more about wine.  Pennsylvania has some wonderful wineries, fun wine trails, and exciting wine events - right here in our own backyard.

The PA Winery Association has a comprehensive site that includes an interactive map, listings of wine events as well as how to plan a trip.  Scroll down below and see our "WOWED BY WINE" section.  We've listed some great local wineries. So get out there this summer and have some fun with wine!
Enjoy,
Laura

Soaring at Sunset at the Colonial Plantation
Friday, July 19th
6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Use GPS Address:
3900 North Sandy Flash Dr., Newtown Square

Spend an evening in the air at the Colonial Plantation!  The first untethered manned hot air balloon flight was on November 21, 1783, in Paris, France, in a balloon created by the Montgolfier brothers. Inspired by that achievement, an American innkeeper named Peter Carnes—without any knowledge of ballooning, and based only on newspaper descriptions—built his own hot air balloon. On July 19, 1784, he launched his balloon at the Walnut Street Prison in Philadelphia. On Friday, July 19, 2019, we will honor Peter Carnes and his French predecessors with Soaring at Sunset.
