Save the date for the next Oklahoma Film and Music Day at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City on April 7, 2026. Featuring live music, interactive booths and networking opportunities, this annual event is FREE to attend and not to be missed. Keep an eye out for more details! OF+MO to Sponsor Inaugural Oklahoma Latin America Film Festival
OF+MO is proud to sponsor the inaugural Oklahoma Latin America (OLA) Film Festival taking place November 8-9 at Oklahoma City’s Rodeo Cinema in the Stockyards City District. Amplifying Latin American filmmakers, this FREE event will feature an education film panel, networking opportunities and a variety of film screenings, including the world premiere of a short film that was produced locally by participating students in the OLA Film Institute.

OU’s Resonance Series Welcomes Mike Stern Quartet
OF+MO is proud to partner with the University of Oklahoma's (OU) Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts' School of Music to present this semester’s Resonance Series, which will welcome the Mike Stern Quartet November 16-18. Led by six time Grammy-nominated guitarist for Blood, Sweat & Tears, this group features some of the world’s most talented musicians participating in a number of activations both on the OU campus and throughout the City of Norman for students and general audiences.

Rose State and deadCenter Host Indigenous Filmmaker Panel
Learn from local Native filmmakers at a FREE panel, Indigenous Voices: Crafting Oklahoma's Cinematic Future, hosted by Rose State and deadCenter November 12 at 12:30 p.m. at Rose State. A variety of tribes and on-set departments will be represented in this panel with a focus on authentic Indigenous voices in the creative process both on and off set.

Francis Tuttle Offers Screenwriting Intensive for Beginners and Intermediates
Sharpen your skills in this three-day screenwriting intensive. Learn from instructor Ben Richardson (“A Little Dead”) as he teaches character development, story, format and structure. Students will leave with a deeper knowledge of screenwriting and learn how to copyright their work. This course will meet on the Rockwell campus November 17, 19 and 21 from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

Film Friendly Community Spotlight Feature: “Fragilé
The new documentary “Fragilé” was filmed in the film friendly City of Chickasha. Created by Chickasha native and filmmaker Reagan Elkins, this film tells the layered story behind the art installation of the Giant Chickasha Leg Lamp, which was constructed to drive additional tourism and development opportunity within the city. The film releases to transactional platforms on November 7. Thank you to the Chickasha Economic Development Council for highlighting this story within their community. Norman Music Festival Opens Call for 2026 Artists
Norman Music Festival 2026 artist applications are officially OPEN! Since 2008, Norman Music Festival has showcased Oklahoma's finest musicians in every genre on four outdoor stages, and at more than a dozen partner venues. Bring your sound to downtown Norman next spring. Deadline to apply is November 16.

Red Dirt Relief Fund Launches Oklahoma Musicians Mental Health Fund
The Red Dirt Relief Fund (RDRF) has launched a new program for musicians, the Oklahoma Musicians Mental Health Fund. In partnership with Backline and Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, this grant provides qualifying Oklahoma musicians and their families with money for mental health therapy. Kickstarted by the contribution of $1 of every ticket sale to RDRF, the program was inspired by Wyatt Flores whose own contributions from his recent tour helped pave the way for this program to be locally offered.

The former Freedom State Bank (now home to a branch of the Alva State Bank) is nestled in Northwestern Oklahoma in the newly certified film friendly town of Freedom. Multiple wooden facades adorn the Main Street of this charming community, including the bank, giving it the outward appearance of a unique western town. A playground for filmmakers seeking such a location in a practical, fully operational setting, this location is located just thirty minutes outside of the local production hub of Woodward, also a film friendly certified community.
