We know that when you look at Henry, you see him - his complex personality, quirks, hopes, dreams, and strengths. Henry gets to choose how he identifies with disability. You know that it doesn't have to define him, but you also share in our belief that it's something he should never feel ashamed to name or claim. You know that disability is not a four-letter word (p.s. it's a ten-letter word).
We know that when you look at Masa's illustrations, you share our belief that art is a vehicle to expansive dialogue and growth - that it can help us reimagine what's possible, cultivate vital skills, change pulbic perceptions, elminate stigma, solve community problems, and advance the conversation around disability.
Last year, your support allowed us to carry out 100+ high-quality multidisciplinary arts programs, exhibits, and events serving more than 5,000 people like Henry. Now, we have a goal of raising $15,000 by December 31, 2014 in order to bring the arts to even more individuals with disabilities in the new year.
Join the movement to bring the artistry and joy of Upstream Arts to people of all abilities by investing in our work today wtih a tax-deductible gift. You play an essential role in our community. Let's keep moving upstream together.
