Dave Mawhinney, Executive Director of the CMU Swartz Center, has been awarded the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association's Impact Award, and will be honored at the PVCA 28th Annual Awards dinner on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Rich Lunak, former CEO and President of Innovation Works, and Jorgen Pedersen, COO of Sarcos Technology and Robotics Corp. are also among the honorees.

| |
CMU undergraduate students! Are you interested in entrepreneurship? Have a startup, or want to connect with other student entrepreneurs? Apply to the 2023-25 Innovation Scholars cohort by Friday, April 14, 2023. Current second year students in the second semester in ANY school or college at CMU are eligible to apply to this highly selective program.
Early applications are encouraged. Due to the competitive nature of this program and the limitation of 12 slots available, interviews will be based on the strength of the candidates' application and CMU program diversity.

Applications Open for the 2023-24 Innovation Commercialization Fellows
Carnegie Mellon graduate and Ph.D. students, post doctoral fellows and research assistants currently working with faculty on CMU research-based startups are eligible to apply for the Innovation Commercialization Fellows program. Well-qualified candidates will display a strong interest in driving the startup's commercialization efforts.
The Innovation Commercialization Fellows is a year-long, entrepreneurial program that begins on July 1, 2023. Along with cohort-based educational workshops and expert one-on-one mentoring, Fellows will receive $50K from the Swartz Center—contingent upon a $50K match from another source—to assist with working on their commercialization.
