Registration is OPEN for the 2026 Career, Research, Innovation, and Development Conference (CRIDC) Poster Competition, happening on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in the Exhibition Hall. CRIDC is the premier annual professional development event that offers a poster competition, panel sessions led by industry leaders, and career networking opportunities. Graduate students are encouraged to until Friday, January 16, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. Online students who are interested may register for the virtual poster competition. CRIDC is hosted by the Graduate Student Government Association and the Office of Graduate Education, in partnership with the Career Center and Belonging & Student Support.

Georgia Tech Community Celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr.
|
Georgia Tech’s 2026 MLK Day celebration kicks off on Monday, January 19, with MLK Day of Service. MLK Day of Service is an immersive, community service program that connects GT community members to hands-on service projects in the Atlanta area. Each year, we offer the chance to make it a “day on, not a day off,” partnering with Atlanta community organizations to connect, serve, and move us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a ‘Beloved Community’. Participation is open to Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and students! Check out other scheduled events to celebrate MLK's legacy, including the Sunday (Monday) Supper at 6:00 p.m. that evening, and the Civil and Human Rights Museum Tour on Friday, Janaury 23, 2026. RSVPs are required for both events.

The Spring 2026 All-Majors Career Fair takes place Monday and Tuesday, January 26–27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Exhibition Hall. Graduate students are encouraged to attend both days and are not restricted to a specific date. Please note: Backpacks will not be allowed on the career fair floor. | Impactful Research Mentoring Series: Promoting Professional Development

The Impactful Research Mentoring Workshop Series for graduate students and postdocs resumes on Thursday, January 15, 2026, with a session focused on promoting Professional Development. Facilitated by Karena Nguyen, assistant director of Postdoctoral Services, and Jana Stone, assistant vice provost for Professional Development and director of Postdoctoral Services, this workshop is designed to help research mentees reach their full potential and build strong, productive mentoring relationships. Participants may attend the in-person session on Thursday, January 15, from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. ET, or a virtual session on Thursday, January 22, 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. ET. Registration is required to attend both sessions.

Plan to attend the CRIDC Employer Networking Brunch, happening from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in the Exhibition Hall. The Employer Networking Brunch is an in-person networking event for graduate students and postdocs. Connect with Industry leaders, alumni, and 70 employers in a relaxed setting while enjoying a hearty breakfast meal (food is first-come, first-served), and explore career opportunities across a range of industries. Funding Opportunities: Apply for the Chateaubriand Fellowship Program
|
The Chateaubriand Fellowship is a grant offered by the Embassy of France in the United States. This fellowship supports outstanding PhD students from U.S. institutions who wish to conduct part of their doctoral research in France for four to nine months. Fellows are selected through merit-based competition with expert evaluation in France and the U.S. Interested applicants can apply for STEM or Humanities & Social Sciences-based programs. Level Up Your Mentoring Skills with the URE Network
|
Graduate students are invited to apply for the Undergraduate Research Excellence (URE) Network, a new NSF-funded, multi-institutional initiative designed to support and strengthen undergraduate research mentoring. Open to graduate students across all disciplines, the URE Network provides coaching, workshops, and resources to help participants design effective mentoring approaches for undergraduate researchers while integrating an entrepreneurial mindset. Participants commit approximately 1–2 hours per month over one year and receive $1,250 in professional development funding upon completion of program activities.
Those interested should complete the short interest survey by Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 9:00 p.m.
