Tomorrow marks the close of the current telecommuting program and the full return of all staff employees to campus. Over the next two weeks, finishing touches will be placed on the preparations for the new academic year – a year that is full of possibilities and the potential for return to a traditional college experience for students and employees.
To keep our college community safe and healthy while we move toward the usual and much-valued SUNY Oneonta experience, some guidelines and safety measures are in place that must be followed. If we each do our part in complying with these guidelines, the return to “normal” may soon become a reality.
Proof of Vaccination -OR - Mandatory Weekly Testing
- Fully vaccinated individuals can volunteer vaccination proof to be exempt from the college’s regular weekly testing upon submission and approval of appropriate documentation.
- The steps for state, Research Foundation and OAS employees to submit vaccination proof are outlined in the Vaccination Policy on the COVID webpage.
- Weekly testing will continue to be mandatory for employees who have not provided proof of vaccination and will have any physical presence on campus.
Masking
- Everyone, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks while indoors beginning Monday, Aug. 9. Additional details on requirements for masking and social distancing are outlined on the COVID webpage.
Testing Center Relocating
- Beginning Monday, Aug. 9, the campus COVID-19 testing center will be relocated to the Waterfront in the bottom level of the Hunt College Union. The testing center will be open on Monday, Aug. 9, and Monday Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The testing center schedule will offer expanded hours once classes begin. Beginning Sunday, Aug. 22, testing will be available in the Waterfront as follows:
- Sundays from 1 to 8 p.m.
- Mondays from 1 to 8 p.m.
- Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon
- The procedure for departments that self-collect will remain the same, with drop-offs due to the testing center, Tracy Hartwell, the Emergency Services Building or the Health and Wellness Center by Mondays at 2 p.m.
- Remember, weekly testing is required for anyone who is unvaccinated or who has not provided proof of their vaccination status.
- Please direct any testing-related questions to Lindsay Wolfanger at covid-testingcenter@oneonta.edu.
Fall Plan
Fall Town Hall Meeting
- The college will host a virtual town hall for employees on Thursday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. to discuss the fall plan and answer questions.
- Submit questions about the college’s plans, procedures or policies for the fall in advance (by Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 5 p.m.). At the end of the meeting, the floor will open for new or additional questions.
We are looking forward to working together to have a safe and engaging fall semester.
