Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy earned the maximum eight-year reaccreditation from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), reaffirming its long-standing reputation for excellence.

Among the first accredited private pharmacy schools in the country, McWhorter will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027. Continuously accredited since 1941, ACPE accreditation signifies that the school has met rigorous national standards for quality.

Kim Benner, PharmD ’96, professor of pharmacy practice, has been elected the next president of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

A Samford faculty member for 28 years and pediatric clinical specialist at Children’s of Alabama, Benner has served ASHP in leadership roles for more than two decades, continuing our proud tradition of national pharmacy leadership.

The Samford Pharmacy World Series knocked it out of the park. From Birmingham to Chattanooga, Atlanta, Huntsville and our final stop in Nashville, alumni, faculty and friends gathered to cheer on hometown teams, reconnect with classmates and enjoy time with the McWhorter family.
