NYU CannaHealth
NYU CannaHealth seeks group leaders for the 2022-2023 academic year! If you are interested in leading the group, please reach out to them on Instagram at @nyucannahealth or email silver.cannahealth@nyu.edu.
WHO WE ARE
CannaHealth is a graduate student organization that represents the health arm of the greater NYU Cannabis Network (CannaLaw, CannaPolicy, and CannaBusiness). Housed at NYU Silver School of Social Work, CannaHealth is currently looking for new leadership to continue the fight for social equity and psychoeducation that prioritizes mental health and justice for all.
OUR MISSION
The mission of NYU CannaHealth is to provide NYU students with the tools and resources needed to positively impact the nascent cannabis industry from a social work perspective (this is crucial considering the recent legalization of cannabis in New York State!). NYU Silver’s CannaHealth group explores the intersection of cannabis on mental health, policy, and social justice. Utilizing a biopsychosocial approach, CannaHealth increases educational opportunities to improve clinical practice and policies in the cannabis space while serving as a unifying body for other healthcare professions' students at NYU to join. Leveraging an extensive network of NYU students and partner organizations, we are developing NYU into a global thought leader in the space, exercising its capabilities to facilitate safety, transparency, and comprehensive quality care.Â
