BRAIN GAIN
HOW TO KEEP YOUR
MENTAL MUSCLE WORKING
AT PEAK PERFORMANCE
FEATURING 2 GUYS ON YOUR HEAD
Your brain--the best thing you've got going...but what if you could make it even better?

2 Guys -- renowned UT Professors
Bob Duke and Art Markman -- show you how to crank up the gray matter

After watching 2 Guys on Your Head online, it's easy to imagine how this engaging pair might be in a classroom -- probably a lot like your favorite professors in college.

Both teach at UT -- Dr. Duke in music and Dr. Markman in psychology and marketing. Both are renowned psychologists.

But the personable academicians may be best known as the stars of 2 Guys on Your Head, a popular, long-running show on NPR/KUT and podcasts that attracts avid fans to hear their witty and often profound takes on all things mental.

These 2 Guys tackle everything from the effects of sugar on the brain to what's happening in our minds while we sleep, and virtually any other heady curiosity.

As a natural spin-off from their show, they wrote the best-selling book Brain Briefs: Answers to the Most (and Least) Pressing Questions about Your Mind.

Sticking to their conversational style for our March 8 "Brain Gain" presentation, Dr. Duke and Markman will field your questions so bring'em on. These 2 Guys revel in the soft and the hard balls.

They've been characterized as geniuses, but they don't let it go to their 2 heads nor interfere with their fun.

Responding to many requests, we invited them back for an encore performance at the Women's Chamber where they spoke five years ago. Since then, the prolific pair's celebrity spread with popular books, appearances, and a flurry of high-profile achievements.

Dr. Markman was appointed last year to lead the prestigious IC2 Institute, an interdisciplinary research unit of UT Austin with far-flung global programs to advance the theory and practice of entrepreneurial wealth creation. IC² was established in 1977 as a “think and do” tank by George Kozmetsky, a former dean of the McCombs School of Business. Its mission is to promote entrepreneurship and strengthen regional economies, both locally and abroad.

Show biz personae aside, Dr. Duke and Markman bring solid credentials to give you no-nonsense, down-to-earth ways to keep your mind firing on all cylinders and your brain fit at any age.

Read their stories in the left sidebar.

Put on your thinking cap and mental running shoes, then race to hear these 2 brainy Guys, my friend!
