Father Austin Collins is ready for the next chapter

After five years at the helm of the Office of Mission Engagement and Church Affairs, Rev. Austin I. Collins, C.S.C., is stepping down and focusing on his role of professor of sculpture in the Department of Art, Art History, and Design, while also acting as an adviser to University President Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C. He shares thoughts about his past roles with NDWorks.

Polishing the past: Cedar Grove Cemetery restores headstones

As part of a headstone restoration project that began in 2023, the Cedar Grove Cemetery team, including student workers, has been working to clean and restore headstones, as well as address safety concerns for stones that might topple or otherwise suffer further damage.

AI tool estimates the carbon footprint of electronic devices

Tingyu Cheng, assistant professor of computer science and engineering, teamed up with other researchers to develop a tool that requires only a product’s name to calculate a device’s embodied carbon footprint.
