A day of family fun at the West Scranton Fall Festival
We had a wonderful time sharing in the fun at Clover Field and Allen Park for the second annual West Scranton Fall Festival on Saturday, September 16th! NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania hosted the festival, which was presented by PNC Bank.

Activities across the day included food and entertainment, children’s activities, yard games, a fire pit, s'mores, live music and more. Over 700 people attended the festival.

A big thank you to our sponsors: presenting sponsor PNC Bank, gold sponsor Posture Interactive, silver sponsor Citizens Savings Bank, and bronze sponsors Bold Gold Media Group, Comparion Insurance Agency, Fidelity Bank, Scranton Area Community Foundation, and the University of Scranton. Food vendors were El Buen Amigo, The Little Ladybug Bakery, Hangin with the Big Dogs and Fidelity's ice cream truck! Live music was provided by Tori V & The Karma and Grupo Zona!

An additional THANK YOU to the Youth Arts Coalition of NEPA, Scranton Fringe, Dani Long Legs and the Eclectic Circus, Kyle Mertz Juggling, DJ Cola, and our amazing volunteers!

Check out our latest podcast episode!
In this episode of the Be a Neighbor podcast, hosts Parker Dorsey and Gerard Hetman chat with Dr. Douglas Boyle and Andy Chomko, president and treasurer of the West Scranton Wrestling Alumni Association, respectively. Both are alumni of West Scranton High School wrestling. In this episode we discuss the West Scranton Wrestling Alumni program: how it got started, their plans for the community center and other activities, and how the community at large can support and assist. Included above is a short video preview of the episode.

Thank you for your support at our Volunteer Appreciation Jamboree
A big thank you to all who attended our Volunteer Appreciation Jamboree recently! We couldn't do our work without the invaluable time and effort put in by our amazing volunteers! We'd also like to extend our gratitude to Grupo Zona for the fantastic music they provided. The evening was filled with free food, music, games, and more, allowing volunteers to connect and celebrate together.

Multiple vacant lots cleaned up during United Way Day of Caring
A shout-out to the volunteers from MetLife and Posture Interactive who participated in the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties Day Of Caring!

Volunteers mowed, picked up trash, cleared sidewalks, trimmed trees and hedges, and weeded at three vacant lots and one parking lot, including cleaning up around Allen Park. We provided our Mobile Toolkit to assist with the cleanup.

Great job to everyone involved, thank you!

See you at Picnic in the Park!
It's still on! Our friends at the Paperback Foundation will be hosting Picnic In The Park - a day filled with entertainment, education, and delicious local cuisine, taking place on Sunday, October 15th at McDade Park in Scranton, PA from 12:00pm-4:00pm. Regional Foundation visit

Thank you to our friends at the Regional Foundation for the recent visit to our office to see our work in West Scranton! We took a look at projects our team has accomplished as well as areas of our plan that will be improved. We also took the time to discuss long-term plans for West Scranton, future community events, and efforts for community engagement and leadership building! We are looking forward for more opportunities to collaborate in the future!
