The Tunnel to Towers show on August 21, 2021, honors Stephen Siller, a Brooklyn firefighter who had just finished his shift on September 11, 2001, when he learned of the first plane hitting the World Trade Center. He returned to the firehouse, strapped 60 pounds of gear to his back, and raced to the Twin Towers where he saved many, but ultimately sacrificed his own life. Stephen’s life and heroic death remind us to live life to the fullest and to give back to others. “While we have time, let us do good” are words Stephen lived by.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation pays off mortgages of law enforcement officers and firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty or who suffer from a 9/11-related illness. The Foundation provides mortgage-free Smart Homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, as well as mortgage-free homes for surviving spouses of military members with young children.
Ann will perform a short set at Jones Beach on August 21st at the Never Forget Concert. The concert will benefit the Tunnels To Towers Foundation www.t2t.org who have done much to help the families of victims of 911. The concert is also being recorded for future broadcast.
