Dear PI Colleagues, Graduate Students, and Postdocs,
Given the precipitation and near-freezing temperatures, please decide for yourself if you need to leave campus early today in order to get home safely. Roads may ice over, and some areas are beginning to experience power outages. Your safety is paramount. A few more things to keep in mind:
Experiments: At this time, campus operations are expected to be normal tomorrow (Friday, February 12), but adverse weather conditions through the weekend and into early next week may necessitate a campus closure. Given that possibility, please plan all weekend experiments accordingly in case you are unable to be on campus on Monday.
Flexibility: PIs should work with their teams to support each person’s individual circumstances, which may mean allowing researchers to work from home if necessary.
PCTs: Testing follows university closure schedules, but if you have an appointment for a proactive community test today, you may arrive early if you prefer to give yourself extra time to get home.
COVID-19 vaccines: Due to inclement weather, and out of concern for patient safety, COVID-19 vaccination appointments at UT will be cancelled for Monday, February 15, 2021. If you have an appointment, you will be contacted to reschedule your vaccine appointment for a later date. For updates and information, please visit uthealthaustin.org/covid-19-vaccine.
