Research Conference/Workshop Seed Grant Program Spring 2026 |
Invitation to Serve as a Grant Evaluator – NYS Community Grants Reinvestment Fund | Spring 2026 OR&I (formerly OVPR) Seed Grant Program |
The seed grant program aims to give Stony Brook University faculty a competitive edge in securing external research funds by supporting and fostering innovative scientific and scholarly activities that will lead to the development of proposals with a greater likelihood of success. This cycle of the OR&I Seed Grant Program includes three priority areas: (1) Early Career, (2) Pivoting Research, and (3) Center-Scale Proposals. The OR&I Seed Grant Program is also open to all eligible applicants, and their research focuses within and beyond these three priority areas.
Deadline: Full proposals due May 14, 2026 via the InfoReady OR&I Seed Grant Program Application Portal.

AFRL Regional Network -- Mid-Atlantic Spring 2026 Partnership Funding Cycle
Sponsor: AFRL Regional Hub Network - Mid-Atlantic
Discipline(s): Defense innovations, translation
Description: The Network’s funding program supports prototyping and validating research innovations with potential utility in defense applications and commercial market applications, otherwise known as Translation. The first 24 successful applicants will be invited to prepare a full proposal.
Institutional Limit: No limit
PI Eligibility: There is a limit of one proposal per PI per cycle. Please note that all Stage 1 proposals must identify an AFRL co-PI at the time of initial submission in order to be eligible for consideration as a full proposal.
Award: Stage 1: Up to $100K for 3 to 6 months; Stage 2 and 3: Up to $200K for up to 10 months

Cornerstone: Learning for Living
Sponsor: The Teagle Foundation
Discipline(s): Liberal Arts, Humanities, Education
Description: The Cornerstone: Learning for Living initiative aims to reinvigorate the role of the humanities in general education, and in doing so, expose a broad array of students to the power of the humanities; help students of all backgrounds build a sense of belonging and community; strengthen the coherence and cohesiveness of general education; and increase teaching opportunities for humanities faculty.
Institutional Limit: No limit
PI Eligibility: The two co-PIs must be tenured or tenure-track faculty. Individual fellowships funded under Cornerstone cannot be awarded to those who already are receiving fellowship support from NEH.
Award: Implementation grants based on project scope, up to $300,000 over 24 months. Planning grants up to $25,000 over 6-12 months.
Cost Share: Not required
Deadline(s): Concept Paper due December 1, 2026; Full proposal by invitation only, due early April 2027.
