What’s New

The U.S. Department of Labor released a new AI Literacy Framework outlining principles and considerations for responsible AI adoption in workforce contexts. See also this infographic representation of the AI Literacy Framework.

Teaching with AI Faculty Showcase - April 30 | Faculty are invited to share how they are integrating AI into learning experiences, assignments, assessments, or classroom practice. Community Outreach

SJSU Library and San José Public Library Offer AI/ML Boot Camp for Youth | SJSU University Library and the San José Public Library (SJPL) are partnering for the third time to host a hands-on Python for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Boot Camp for middle and high school students, with a special focus on supporting underrepresented groups in technology. Boot camp is scheduled from March 27-April 1; the program concludes with a showcase and awards ceremony on April 1. Through this initiative, SJSU University Library and SJPL aim to expand access to AI education and inspire the next generation of innovators in Silicon Valley and beyond. This event, jointly hosted by SJSU and the City of San Jose as a Center for Civic and Social Good program, will feature a panel of academic, industry and community leaders, tabletop discussions hosted by industry leaders, and networking. March 24 - 12-2pm | AI Detectors, Academic Integrity, and Trust: A Conversation and Collaborative Exploration | Location: MLK 225 (HyFlex) | Contact: Lara Kassab. As AI tools become embedded in everyday academic work, faculty face growing questions about AI detection, reliability, equity, and trust. This interactive convening features a brief overview of how AI detectors work, a faculty panel on classroom practices, and collaborative time to draft syllabus language, assessment strategies, student-centered AI practices and more.
