Research Conference/Workshop Seed Grant Program Spring 2026 |
Spring 2026 OR&I (formerly OVPR) Seed Grant Program |
The seed grant program aims to give Stony Brook University faculty a competitive edge in securing external research funds by supporting and fostering innovative scientific and scholarly activities that will lead to the development of proposals with a greater likelihood of success. This cycle of the OR&I Seed Grant Program includes three priority areas: (1) Early Career, (2) Pivoting Research, and (3) Center-Scale Proposals. The OR&I Seed Grant Program is also open to all eligible applicants, and their research focuses within and beyond these three priority areas.
Eligibility: We are following the Principal Investigator (PI) Eligibility Policy. Please review it carefully to determine whether you need a letter from your Department Chair. Additional eligibility criteria can be found in the OR&I Seed Grant Program Request for Applications.
Award: Itemized budgets should not exceed $50,000 for early career proposals, pivoting research proposals, and other proposals outside of the three priority areas. Center Scale proposals can request up to $100,000. Typical project lengths should be 12-18 months.
Deadline: Full proposals due May 14, 2026 via the InfoReady OR&I Seed Grant Program Application Portal.
For more information, review the OR&I Seed Grant Program Request for Applications.
