UMSL Summer Preview
Explore the exciting possibilities that await you at UMSL!

UMSL Summer Preview provides prospective undergraduate students the opportunity to meet with our nationally recognized faculty, speak with current students, and learn more about degree programs, admissions and scholarship opportunities. Summer Preview will be held in-person with a limited capacity on UMSL’s campus. Bring your friends and family to learn more about UMSL and celebrate a return to campus. There will be a virtual option for those who cannot or do not wish to attend in-person.

Virtual Literacy Clinic


The UMSL Literacy Clinic provides tutoring to K-12 students who need support in reading, writing, and spelling. Teachers will administer literacy assessments and design personalized sessions that focus on strengthening skills. 

College of Education Alumnus relishing even more opportunity to serve in new role as Dean of Students at UMSL


D’Andre Braddix knew by the time he was completing his master’s degree from the College of Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis that he was a “long-hauler.” After 14 years working in UMSL’s Division of Student Affairs, Braddix was promoted to Dean of Students in April 2021. 

UMSL Sport Management Case Study Recognized Nationwide


In the inaugural year of the undergraduate degree program, UMSL Sport Management has been selected as the FIRST national case study for WorkInSport; Sports Career Game Plan. This case study highlights the work, hours, and dedication by our UMSL students. They have received internships and part time jobs within minor league baseball, major league baseball, collegiate leagues, community athletics, college athletics and so much more. 

Counseling PhD student Zori Paul wins minority fellowship award

Zori Paul won the National Board of Certified Counselors Minority Fellowship Award, which included a $20,000 prize to support her PhD research on identity affirmation of bisexual+ women of color.

Education alumnus William Pryor awarded Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Taiwan


William Pryor, a recent College of Education graduate and teacher at St. Louis Language Immersion School, will embark on a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Taiwan this month. He will serve as an English teaching assistant for a year in the capital city of Taipei. 

Education and English alumna Sandy Olive wins big on ‘Jeopardy!'


Sandy Olive, an English teacher at Lindbergh High School and graduate of the UMSL College of Education and College of Arts and Sciences, appeared on three episodes of “Jeopardy!” last week. During Olive’s run, she was a two-day champion and won more than $50,000 in prize money.

OUR INNOVATIVE DEGREE PROGRAMS SPOTLIGHT
Master of Science in Applied Behavioral Analysis
The new UMSL College of Education Applied Behavior Analysis Master of Science degree program meets all of the requirements for the national Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Missouri Licensed Behavior Analyst (MO-LBA) credentials.
K-12 Teacher Leader Graduate Certificate
A 15-credit-hour program available in both an online and hybrid format that can be completed in as little as 12 months. You may apply earned credit hours from this program toward a master’s degree in K-12 Administration and/or Curriculum and Instruction.
