The Locker Project provides food for kids and families in the greater Portland area. They rely on volunteers to help provide food to children and families. Volunteers help to pick up or deliver food, pack bags at the warehouse, organize food drives and spread the word about the importance of ensuring that Maine children and families have reliable access to healthy food. A few hours of your time can make a HUGE difference to a child! Sign up here or email info@mainelockerproject.org with any questions!

Shovel snow for your neighbors who can't! |
Age Friendly Portland needs help maintaining and expanding the snow shoveling for seniors program. Each year, a growing number of older Portland homeowners (aged 65+) are seeking help with snow removal. In order to keep up with demand, additional volunteers are needed in all areas of the city. Volunteers are asked to shovel steps, walks, and sidewalks for an elderly neighbor.
Want to help but can't shovel? Become a Neighborhood Coordinator!
They are looking for individuals willing to coordinate volunteer matches within their own neighborhood. Volunteer coordinators are needed in the Back Cove, West End, Munjoy Hill, Deering Center, Nason's Corner, and North Deering neighborhoods.
Contact Linda Weare at 207-541-6620 or email her at LSW@portlandmaine.gov to learn more!

The mission of Preble Street is to provide accessible barrier-free services to empower people experiencing problems with homelessness, housing, hunger, and poverty and to advocate for solutions to these problems.
It takes many, many hands to accomplish all they do. Without the help and support of volunteers every week, Preble Street couldn’t provide services to vulnerable community members who depend on them.
Check out their volunteer page to learn more about available shifts and how you can help!
