Introductory Personal Statement Workshop

This workshop is open to all LMU students looking to craft competitive scholarship and fellowship essays. Interested students must bring a draft of a personal statement or a past essay to workshop. Space is limited. Register here to attend.

Upcoming Award Deadlines by College

All or Multiple Disciplines 
UNICEF Global Citizenship Fellowship- Deadline: February 21. The fellowship is a highly-competitive, full-time, two year program that prepares diverse, committed, and globally minded individuals for effective leadership in public service.The successful candidate must have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of children’s rights and international issues, familiarity with experiential learning techniques, general volunteer management experience, as well as a commitment to public service. 
Tillman Scholars Program- Deadline: March 1. The Pat Tillman Foundation unites and empowers remarkable military veterans and spouses as the next generation of private and public sector leaders committed to service beyond self. The fellowship program supports Tillman Scholars with academic scholarships, a national network, and professional development opportunities in all different fields. The scholarship covers educational expenses, including tuition and fees, books and living expenses. In 2018, Tillman Scholars can expect to receive an $11,000 annual scholarship as well as a $1,000 stipend for professional development opportunities. The application is open to military veterans and spouses pursuing a full-time bachelor's, master’s, or professional degree at a US-based accredited institution. 
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship- Deadline: March 6 for Summer 2018, Fall 2018, or academic year 2018-19. The Gilman Scholarship Program provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.
Freeman Awards for Study in Asia- Deadline: March 14 for Summer 2018. Freeman-ASIA accepts applications from U.S. citizens or permanent residents studying at the undergraduate level who demonstrate financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia. Scholars receive up to $3,000 for summer study.

Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts
Humane Studies Fellowship- Deadline: March 18.  A renewable, non-residency award of up to $15,000 per year to support current or future students in PhD programs. Intended for graduate students with an interest in developing, teaching, and applying classical liberal ideas and the principles of a free society, this program supports research and teaching in the humanities and social sciences.
Other Notable Opportunities
FoodCorps- Deadline: March 15. A 1-year fellowship working with teachers and school administrators to better incorporate food and nutrition education in kindergarten through high school classrooms.FoodCorps recruits talented leaders for a year of full time paid public service building healthy school food environments in limited-resource communities.
