Please review this important message from Toronto Public Health about the steps that can be taken to help keep children and others safe. Inclement Weather
Winter weather is here! With our cold Canadian winter comes snow, ice, and severe weather. It is occasionally necessary to cancel student transportation, classes and/or programs. January 27th is International Holocaust Remembrance Day and we’re inviting you to virtually join us for an interview with Holocaust survivor Pinchas Gutter from 10:15 am - 11 am. This is a live webcast to all TDSB classes grades 6 and up who are interested. To join us, please use the following link: International Holocaust Remembrance Day Live Webcast. In addition, we’re honoured to have the Grade 8 classes from Fern Avenue Junior and Senior PS in our boardroom at 5050 Yonge as our “live” audience who will have at least 15 minutes to ask questions of Mr. Gutter. I look forward to joining them this week.
The Children of Willesden Lane concerts were previously postponed due to the CUPE strike. The concerts will now take place on January 31 and February 1. All students (grades 6 and up) and members of the TDSB community are welcome to watch the livestream on February 1 at 10am. Thanks to a wonderful donation from Liberation75 and the Shoah Foundation we received almost 10,000 books which have been distributed by teacher request right across the Board. Several VIP’s, including our Director, Chair, Trustees, associates from the U.S. Consulate and the Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany, will also be attending the concerts.
