Are you interested in improving your teaching using ChatGPT? This two-part series is for instructors looking ahead to fall 2024 who want to increase student engagement. Learn how to center students in discipline-specific, in-class, concept-building/application activities by:

- Writing effective ChatGPT prompts.
- Engaging in productive ChatGPT conversations.

Engage with examples (prompts and outputs), and conduct early experiments in your discipline with ChatGPT 3.5. Laptops required.

Only Session 1 attendees are eligible for Session 2. Receive guidance and coaching as you start generating draft activities for your fall 2024 courses. Participants will receive a 5-month subscription to ChatGPT 4 to use over the summer, compliments of the Center for Teaching Excellence. Laptops required.

The latest issue of the Journal on Excellence in College Teaching (Vol. 35.1, 2024) includes articles on using quizzes to improve student performance, promoting equitable learning in high failure-rate courses, and assessing student and faculty experiences with anti-racism instruction in a first-year seminar.

Lilly Conference Proposal Submission Is Now Open! |
Proposal submissions to present your teacher-scholar work are now being accepted for the 43rd Original Lilly Conference on College Teaching! The Conference will take place November 21-23, 2024, at Armstrong Student Center on the Oxford campus. Be part of a community of teacher-scholars from Miami and across the nation who share a passion for improving college teaching and student learning through evidence-based practices. The proposal submission deadline is Monday, June 17, 2024.
