Is your computer ready for Windows 11? |
Microsoft support for the Windows 10 operating system is currently slated to end on October 14, 2025. After that date, Microsoft will no longer provide security patches for Windows 10. In preparation for the end of Windows 10 support, OIT will begin upgrading systems on campus to Windows 11 in Summer of 2024. Many computers on campus do not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11 and will need to be replaced. OIT is urging departments to plan for this transition as soon as possible. To learn how to determine if your computer is compatible, and to find out more about this change, refer to the OIT blog post, “Windows 10 End of Life Hardware Budgeting”.
