University College, Arts NC State Host Helene-Themed High School Play

On Jan. 8, NC State’s Kennedy-McIlWee Studio Theatre played host to a group of high school students from Watauga County to perform SURGE, a play demonstrating the impacts of Hurricane Helene in Watauga County and western North Carolina. Several state dignitaries, including State Superintendent of Public Schools Mo Green and Lieutenant Governor Rachel Hunt, attended the performance.

A new course, the Theatre of Science Fiction and Science fact, uses theater productions to explain scientific concepts, and held its first production last semester in Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre.
