Dear Fenwick Families,

On Tuesday, January 19th, we will resume our hybrid, in-person instruction. We will maintain our A/B groups that we had during the first semester. Tuesday, January 19th, will be a B day and Wednesday, January 20th, will be an A day. The calendar has been updated through March 12th to reflect the A/B schedule. Students should continue checking in on the Magnus Health App before entering the building.

We also have designated Fridays for different classes, when they are available, through March 12th. We will continue to evaluate our calendar and make further adjustments as we move into the spring season.

When we return on Tuesday, we will resume the in-person schedule that we used throughout the first semester, beginning with period 1 and ending with period 11.

The IHSA athletic season remains on pause. We have no definitive answers as to when the contact days or season will resume. There will be a January 27th board meeting. Our hope is that we will have more information for our families after that board meeting.

If you plan to have your student remote learning at the beginning of the second semester, you should have already contacted your child’s counselor to notify them. If you have not done so, please notify them as soon as possible.

We have been asked many times when we think our student body will be able to return to school at 100%. Unfortunately, we do not have an answer to this question. First and foremost, we will continue to abide by the CDC and IDPH guidelines. Information is constantly changing, and our nurses are in frequent communication with our local health department.

During the first semester, our primary focus was on educating our students when they were in school. Many families have reached out with concerns about their child’s spiritual development. We do hold optional mass everyday during the student's study hall/lunch period. We plan to add some school-wide liturgies during the second semester.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding. We are all eager to get back to normal with our students. We know that patience is wearing thin not only in our community but across the country. There is a light at the end of the tunnel with the rollout of the vaccine. We pray that all in our community remain safe in mind, body and spirit.

Sincerely,

Peter Groom
Principal
