Dear Colleagues,
I hope all of you had a restful and enjoyable holiday break! The time that we get to reset at the end of the year is worth its weight in gold. It is a special time when we can all take a break – at the same time.
Thank you for all your individual and collective contributions during 2023. It was a remarkable year. You supported tremendous growth across the Institute in both teaching and research, all the while making dozens of process and systematic improvements in keeping with our administrative excellence goals. The expertise that Finance and Planning (F&P) professionals bring to the table, coupled with a customer-first mindset, truly makes this group special. It is no wonder that F&P groups and departments bring home so many awards each year. I am extremely proud to be part of this team!
2024 promises to be another exciting year at Georgia Tech. We are poised to see continued growth in enrollment and sponsored research, leading to top national rankings in each area. Fresh off a deep NCAA tournament run in volleyball, a bowl win in football, and a promising start to the basketball season, the Yellow Jackets are returning to prominence in the athletic arena. In F&P, we too will be continuing to raise the bar by supporting tremendous growth while making continuous improvements in support of balanced efficiency and effectiveness.
I can’t wait to see what we accomplish in 2024! Please know that your work is appreciated and highly valued. I look forward to supporting your ongoing efforts in the coming months.
All the best,
|

| Lending a Hand to Those in Need |
Many thanks to those of you who participated in the annual service project where we provided gifts to Georgia Tech employee families who are going through challenging times. Once again, F&P partnered with several other administrative units in supporting nearly 30 families - the generosity of our team members is amazing!
A special thank you to Amy Herron, who led the initiative this year, with the continued support of Tricia Smith and Robert Foy who have shepherded the service project over the last several years.

Employee Spotlight: Greta Clark |
|
|
Greta Clark (featured on the left) just celebrated two years at Georgia Tech as a senior associate in Accounts Payable for Business Services. In her role, she supports the Document Imaging and Vendor team with onboarding suppliers, maintaining their accounts, and indexing invoices. In this capacity, Greta and her team assist campus administrators via the ServiceNow portal by providing answers and solutions to their issues.
When away from campus, Greta loves to read and travel - she has collected more than 100 magnets from all the places she and her husband have visited over the years. In addition, Greta keeps active as a professional line dancer.
Greta’s passion for helping others inspired her to create her own community service group, GiGi’s Community Service Group. Greta and her team of volunteers assist with a variety of activities including preparing and distributing food to those in need. While the group assists with many organizations in metro Atlanta, Grace Community Food Pantry and The Ronald McDonald House are two of their favorite places. Greta also co-directs with her daughter (featured second from right) their own pageant system, Pageants R Us, where they direct three pageants. Although they are directors, the mother and daughter duo also compete in pageantry when time allows. To date, Greta holds four national titles in pageantry.
