You're invited to visit the offices of Senators and Representatives while you are in D.C. to help further our work to end homelessness. Here's what you need to know.
What are Hill Visits?
Throughout
#HCH2019, attendees go to Capitol Hill for meetings with Congress’s offices to talk about how Congress can support the Health Care for the Homeless community.
Why does this matter?
Hill Visits are an incredible opportunity for the HCH community to teach lawmakers about the work we are doing and to influence them to make policy decisions that support us and our work to end homelessness.
Who can do Hill Visits?
Anyone attending the conference is encouraged to participate in Hill Visits. Capitol Hill is a short cab ride, metro trip, or walk from the conference hotel, and limited funding is available for transportation assistance for those who need it. No experience is required, and we will provide prep materials and talking points ahead of the meetings. We will put you in touch with others from your location/state so that you may attend together.
How do I get involved?
The Council’s policy staff and volunteer “Hill Visit Captains” from each state organize the meetings. Make sure you check the “I’m interested in Hill Visits” option when you register for the conference or use the Contact Us button below to let us know that you want to participate.
