Amendment 10: The Protection Amendment
Very soon voters will have the opportunity to have their say on a list of state amendments to address some very important issues and shape the future of our state’s constitution. All of the amendments on the General Election November 6th ballot were proposed by the Florida Constitution Revision Commission, citizen initiatives, and the Florida Legislature.

Amendment 10 is one of the amendments that is positive for voters and families. What is Amendment 10? Amendment 10 is the Protection Amendment. Amendment 10 protects Florida citizens and visitors by ensuring constitutional offices report directly to the people they serve. Included in Amendment 10 besides ensuring constitutional officers are elected, is the creation of the Office of Domestic Security and Counterterrorism within the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. This will provide essential support for law enforcement agencies to prevent or respond to acts of terrorism.

Women's Resource Center
2018 Summit Awards

It was a great honor to accept the Women’s Resource Center 2018 Summit award along with fellow distinguished female leaders in the community. The Summit Awards, in their 34th year, recognize and honor women who have outstanding community service and leadership in Central Florida. Nominated by their peers, these women have contributed to the Central Florida community by performing countless hours of community work for the good of all. They have a history of diverse community service, which goes beyond job related responsibilities and has led to the betterment and good of our local community.

Joined by my staff, family, and friends I humbly received the award. The Women’s Resource Center does great work in our community by giving a helping hand to women getting back into the workforce. It is a network of diverse and distinguished women who work together to make positive impact to those in need. As my time as a commissioner and now as Clerk of Courts, I am committed to helping the citizens of Orange County access the justice system. It is not always an easy process, but my office will continue to work on finding ways to make it easier for those we serve.

I want to thank the Women’s Resource Center for acknowledging my service. It was truly an honor to accept the award.
