Call Open for TLC AssociatesCreighton benefit-eligible faculty and professional staff with a passion for teaching and scholarly work, who have expertise in any of the areas listed below, and who desire mentorship in academic leadership are invited to apply to the Associates Program for 2021-2023. Associates will be supported in their efforts to develop and deliver university-wide faculty/professional staff development programming.
Topics related to Scholarly Teaching, Learning and Assessment (with Illustrative Suggestions Only)
• High Impact Instructional Strategies (eLearning/academic technology, diversity and inclusion, mission and ministry, learning communities, and global engagement)
• Experiential Learning Pedagogies and Impact on Student Learning and Achievement (active learning pedagogies, problem- and case-based learning, team-based learning, service learning, and internships)
• Curricular Innovation and/or Development (development and enhancement of curricula to improve student learning through best practices in assessment)
• Collaborative Practices (interprofessional teams and educational practices and interdisciplinary curricular programming)
• Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) (advancement of scholarly inquiry of teaching and learning, such as pedagogical, and curricular improvements, publications)
Each Associate will receive $2,000 for each of two years for their professional development activities. Associates Annually, 4-6 applicants will be accepted into the TLC Associates’ Program. Learn more about the TLC Associates Program and access application.

March 18: Individual Student Mental Health Concerns in the ClassroomCura Personalis for our students means knowing what resources we have, where to refer our students, and what to do when we have concerns for a student’s mental health. | Awarded Faculty Development Grants
Fourteen teaching/research teams, including 36 faculty and 3 students, were awarded the 2021 Faculty Development Grants by the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC). These grants provide seed money for work that advances the assessment of student learning or develops a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) project. The TLC Faculty Development Grants awarded will be funded for a total amount of $22,650. View grant abstracts and college/schools/area representation.

Extended Deadline: March 15Please submit annual assessment program reports to TaskStream, the University-wide Assessment Management System, as soon as possible. The University’s goal is a 100% completion rate. We thank those who have submitted by the March 1 deadline or contacted the Teaching and Learning Center for extensions or assistance. If you have not submitted the deadline has been extended to March 15th.
To help with the time commitment, you are encouraged to identify one or two outcomes (versus all outcomes) for which students were not achieving at expected levels for the 2019-2020 academic year. Call for Peer ReviewersA peer reviewer provides feedback on programs’, colleges’, and schools’ annual assessment reports which helps enhance programmatic assessment and improvement efforts. Join the peer review team to assist Creighton degree programs, majors, and certificate programs in the collaborative assessment cycle. Training will be provided. Have you experienced students/participants entering meetings and by-passing the waiting room you enabled? There is an additional step in your Zoom account settings that you’ll need to adjust in order to keep everyone from joining the meeting when you’ve added the waiting room feature to a specific meeting.
1. Go to the ‘Settings’ in the navigation bar in the upper left-hand side of your browser window when logged into Creighton.zoom.us.
2. Under ‘Security’, you’ll see ‘Waiting Room Options’. Click ‘Edit Options’.
3. Under ‘Who should go in the waiting room’ choose ‘Everyone’.
4. Click ‘Continue’ once you have finished making your changes.
