UACS Programming

Computer Coding is starting for Hamilton students in the 2nd & 3rd grade on 11/30 from 3:30 - 4:30 pm every Tuesday and Thursday. 
Also, there is a space in the Computer Coding club for 6th-8th graders on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 - 5:30 pm.
All students must have a completed UACS application in order to start the coding club. Click HERE to sign up!

Young Quakers Highlight

Hamilton and Lea basketball students took a trip to watch Penn’s women’s basketball team play Kings (Penn won!!) Penn’s men’s team visited them in the stands at halftime, and they went on to win against Lafayette!!

PHLConnectED Free Internet

What it is:
Free Internet for families in need with a pre-K through 12th-grade student
enrolled in a district school. Internet service will run through summer 2022.
There are 2 options:
- An in-home high-speed internet connection 
- A high-speed mobile hotspot for families who are experiencing
homelessness, in-between homes, housing insecure or where in-home connection is not possible
Families qualify if they:
- Do not have internet access or
- Have mobile phone internet access only
- Are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity
- Have students who learn remotely in locations without internet access

How to sign up:
Call 2-1-1 to sign up. Opens 24 hours a day. Translators in over 150
languages available.

University-Assisted Community School (UACS) Afterschool Instructor

The Netter Center’s University-Assisted Community Schools (UACS) is a strategy to educate, engage, empower, and serve all members of the community in which the school is located and engage students (K-16+) in real-world, community problem-solving. UACS collaborates with partners to advance teaching, research, learning, and service, as well as the civic development of their students. Click HERE for more information!







WPSI Training and Production Jobs at TastyKake
Recruitment is now open for the next partnership between West Philadelphia Skills Initiative and PIDC's Navy Yards Skills Initiative for training and Production Associate positions with Tastykake. The Production Associate Program is designed to connect participants to the professional and technical training, tools, and supports needed to build a meaningful career at Tastykake. This program is a blend of virtual courses and in-person sessions, and graduates will have the opportunity to interview for part-time production positions.
