June 2025
Your Support Saves Lives: Gala & Golf Drive Early Cancer Detection Forward$1.4M Raised to Expand Lifesaving Education Programs
Thanks to our amazing community of supporters, DetecTogether’s Sweet 16 Gala & Auction was more than a celebration—it was a launchpad for change.
On May 31, Gala guests gathered in laughter and purpose at our signature event, headlined by comedy icon Jay Leno. The night was filled with energy, heartfelt stories, and unwavering generosity—all united by a common goal: to save lives through early cancer detection.
The momentum continued at our annual Golf Tournament on June 2, where great weather, beautiful courses, and camaraderie set the tone for a powerful day of purpose, connection, and early detection impact.
Because of you, we raised more than $1.4 million to expand our reach—educating students, firefighters, and community members on how to recognize early warning signs and act to save their own lives. This funding powers our mission to teach 3 Steps Detect® and give people the tools and confidence to speak up, seek timely medical care, and save their own lives.
Here’s why this work matters: only 14% of cancers are detected through routine screenings. That means most people must recognize symptoms and advocate for themselves. With your support, we're equipping more individuals to do just that—before it's too late.
We’re deeply grateful. Because of you, more lives will be saved.

Healing the Whole SelfUsing 3 Steps Detect® to Recognize Behavioral Health Changes in Cancer Survivors—and Beyond
June is Men's Mental Health Month. 3 Steps Detect empowers you to catch cancer early and have the best chance at beating it, and can also help you detect mental health changes, particularly for those along their survivor journey.
A cancer diagnosis doesn't just affect your body—it impacts your mind, relationships, and daily life. For many survivors, the emotional aftermath can be just as challenging as the treatment itself.
At DetecTogether, we believe that acknowledging mental and emotional health is essential for healing and overall wellbeing. 3 Steps Detect can help. There's an important distinction between typical emotional responses, like short-term anxiety about recurrence, and more serious behavioral health concerns that require professional support.
By learning the first step, Know Your Great (how you feel at your best or what's normal for you), 3 Steps Detect can help you recognize behavioral health concerns early and move through the steps to take action and get the support you may need.

Proud to partner with the Boston Business Journal—Best Places to Work
Informed and active employees get better healthcare. Our 3 Steps Detect® Program can save lives and healthcare costs by teaching people how to detect cancer early and take action to save their own lives.
Our program is designed specifically for the workplace—and it delivers results. So far, 42% of participants discovered a medical issue through the program. Even more powerfully, nearly 1 in 5 of those issues were caught early—and 64% of those early detections were cancer.
Through a combination of instructor-led webinars and on-demand e-learning, we go beyond traditional cancer prevention to provide employees with a simple roadmap for early cancer detection.
