A NOTE FROM OUR CO-DIRECTOR |
Jaclyn LoPiccolo, MD, PhD
One of the questions we hear most often from young adults with lung cancer is: Why did this happen? We do not yet have all the answers, but research into the causes of young-onset lung cancer is advancing rapidly.
At the Young Lung Cancer Program, we are studying how genetics, environmental exposures, and tumor biology may play a role in lung cancer in younger adults. This is an important and hopeful time in research. We are learning more about this disease and working to improve prevention, early detection, and treatment.
We are deeply grateful to our young lung community for being part of this work. We remain committed to learning more and making a meaningful difference together.
— Jaclyn LoPiccolo, MD, PhD, co-director, Young Lung Cancer Program
