On Friday, November 8, 2024, the MCSS faculty fellows gathered at the Living Learning Center at Tyson Research Center. Presentations were given by Roger Michaelides, Tansu Daylan, and Henric Krawczynski, who shared insights into their respective research areas. Following these talks, Brad Jolliff provided an update on the state of the Mac Center and engaged the group in a discussion on strategic planning. The evening concluded with a viewing at the Tyson Observatory.

| First Friday at the St. Louis Science Center
|
|
|
On Friday, November 1, 2024, the St. Louis Science Center hosted a "First Friday" event focused on The Martian, featuring a lecture by Senior Research Scientist Scott VanBommel. Members of the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences, including McDonnell Center Graduate Fellow Megan Broussard, graduate student Kelsey Woody, and postdoc John Christian managed a display table during the event.

MCSS Postdoctoral Fellowship Opening

MCSS is hiring a postdoctoral fellow in the broad field of space sciences. We welcome applicants with interests in Astromaterials, Cosmochemistry, or Meteoritics; Experimental, Theoretical, or Observational Astrophysics; Planetary Science; Particle and Nuclear Physics, Cosmology and Gravitation; and Earth as a Planet. In their application materials, the candidate should describe their research interests and list potential collaborators from among the faculty fellows of the MCSS.
