PPP Finally Tax Free in MN

For hundreds of businesses in Steele County, the business taxes you paid on PPP revenues will be returned.
Thanks to all our members who sent emails and made phone calls to both our legislators and the Governor's office.

Depending on the complexity of your tax forms, the Dept. of Revenue may be able to amend it and process your refund on its own. The department will reach out to people who have more complex returns and need to file an amended form.

Owatonna's Workforce Center funding APPROVED

When Governor Walz signed the Jobs bill, included was $275k/year for two years to reopen the Workforce Center in Owatonna. Discussions will start immediately about location, services and timing.

This has been a key priority for the Owatonna Chamber. A huge Thank You to our representatives: Senator John Jasinski for continuing to make sure this funding never was removed from the final bill and Representative John Petersburg who has battled for this funding for the last few years and was just one of two Republicans in the House to vote for the bill!

Owatonna Businesses Share How Workforce Shortages Impact Business Operations

Owatonna area businesses are revamping their operations to address employee shortages and meet demands on their business.  A recent survey conducted by the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism (OACCT) of its members indicate that 60% of respondents have increased overtime and 48% have decreased production because of lack of workers. Click HERE for full story.
