Last week we hosted our second Maseeh Exchange event focused on Infrastructure and Resilience. President Cudd, WWII Rosies, open research labs, veteran student speakers, and faculty Ignite talks were a few of the highlights. Thank you to all of the staff, faculty, and students that made the event possible.

- Tugrul Daim (ETM) co-edited a book by Edward Elgar Publishing, Handbook of Technological Forecasting and Roadmapping that will be released in March.

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services recently released their Academic Excellence Honor List, which is pretty much dominated by our engineering and computer science students. If you see a famliar name on the list, make sure to congratulate them.

Maseeh College's Prospective Student Transfer Day on February 27th welcomed over 60 potential students and guests for a presentation and campus and lab tours. Transfer students had an opportunity to meet future classmates and instructors, and connect with advisors, student clubs, and other resources.

Christopher Monsere's (Vice Provost for Faculty Success/CEE), paper, Systemic Opportunities to Improve Older Pedestrian Safety: Merging Crash Data Analysis and a Stakeholder Workshop, was accepted for the upcoming Transportation Research Record Promotional Issue showcasing the most influential articles from 2022-2024.
- Maseeh College proudly sponsored last month's the Oregon Engineers Week high school program, led by industry partners and professionals. High School students from public, private, and homeschooling programs from the Metro area attended the morning program and then came to PSU to tour engineering labs.

At the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Youth Infrastructure Fair at McDaniel High School on last month where the PSU chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Steel Bridge team demonstrated their structural engineering know-how to future engineers.

Commencement is somehow less than 100 days away! Save the date for Maseeh College's ceremony on June 14th from 6-7:30pm at Viking Pavilion. It's time once again to think about volunteering to help at the ceremony and the graduates we will feature.
- Maseeh is again encouraging nominations for student speakers for our ceremony.

Bring Your Kid to Campus Day on April 3rd is a chance to show your children what PSU has to offer and get them excited about university life. Sign-up your department to host a fun activity for this event.

Dean Joseph Bull will be speaking at TEDx MtHood on Saturday, May 16th in Monmouth, Oregon. The 2026 event theme is For the Common Good and highlights speakers and performers working on solutions to problems that impact all of us. This event is a chance to come together with fellow community strengtheners in Oregon and be inspired.

Maseeh College's Wedge Awards ceremony is happening on Wedge Awards Date: Wednesday, May 27th. David Wedge was an alumnus with a passion for engineering, and the David E. Wedge trust gift supports awards recognizing excellence in teaching and service to the college. Voting will start in early April, so look for an email with a link to nominations and then cast your vote.

The PSU Cleantech Finals are on March 27th. Watch the 12 finalists pitch live and cheer on the Maseeh students that are participating: Biniyam Mossie (MME), David Castro (MME), and Viking Motor Sports.

Maseeh College PhD Day is scheduled for May 15th. The program features poster sessions, Three‑Minute Thesis (3MT) presentations, keynote talks, and awards recognizing excellence across degree levels.

Starting April 24, 2026, PSU must ensure that all digital resources—both public-facing and internal—are accessible. The OAI faculty support team at PSU provides resources, training, and design consultations to help you build these practices into your teaching without adding unnecessary workload.
