Congratulations to Craig Estes, procurement manager, Procurement Services, the latest winner of the Staff Senate’s PROPS (Proudly Recognizing our Pack Staff) Award, which is given to recognize outstanding job performance. | Sifford Selected for Papermaking Fellowship |
Savannah Sifford, educator, Bradbury Art Museum, has been chosen to receive an Arkansas Art Educators Scholarship to attend the 2026 Paper Institute in New York. She will participate in “Papermaking for Art Educators” in July. Educators attending the workshop at the Brooklyn studio will learn about papermaking as a historical and contemporary art form, while developing skills in open studio to produce papermaking units she can share with students.

Miller and Bahn Earn State Recognition |
Laura Miller (left), director, and Robert Bahn (right), business consultant, Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), received Employee Excellence Awards during the state SBTDC network meeting in Little Rock. The center at A-State has also received several honors, including Small Business Development Center Excellence and Innovation Award, based on its achievements with helping small businesses to increase revenues and to create and retain jobs. | Saavedra is Recognized by Peer Group |
Rod Saavedra, director, First National Bank Arena, was one of three individuals honored by his fellow professionals, the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), during the organization’s recent symposium. Saavedra received the Engagement Award from the IAVM Board of Governors in recognition of his active involvement, contributions, and ongoing enhancement of participants’ experience. IAVM educates, advocates for, and inspires venue professionals.

James Presents Career Advice to Peers |
Erika James, academic adviser, Griffin College of Business, made a presentation at the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education Conference. James explored the professional and personal journey of transitioning from an administrative support role to professional academic adviser. She shared the value of the foundational knowledge attained through her previous role, and also offered practical tips for those considering a shift into a student-facing role.
