Sneak Peek: New Clerk Website Launching Soon
Many of you are aware that in June of last year my office launched the new my eClerk website, providing online access to millions of court records. Since the launch of my eClerk, we have shifted our attention to the Clerk’s informational website, myorangeclerk.com.
I am excited to announce that the new myorangeclerk.com is in its final testing phase and will be launched in the coming weeks. The new site did not just get a facelift, it is new from the ground up. A main feature of the new myorangeclerk.com is that it is responsive, meaning it adapts to the laptop, tablet or smart phone you are using to access the site.
We know that more and more of our customers are accessing information using mobile devices and soon you will be able to quickly and conveniently log on to myorangeclerk.com on the go.

Residents Learn About Housing Law at the Clerk's Second Legal Matters Forum
This past Saturday the Clerk’s Office hosted our second Legal Matters Housing Law Forum. It was a resounding success, with more than 75 local residents taking advantage of our online registration.
Attendees to the forum had the opportunity to participate in seminars on avoiding foreclosure, renting a foreclosure, buying a foreclosed property and more. Guest speakers included Ninth Circuit Judge Alice L. Blackwell, Legal Aid attorney Larri Thatcher, attorney Karen Wonsetler, attorney Kimberly Sanchez and attorney Roberta Walton.
A special thank you to all of our attendees, guest speakers and deputy clerks who made the event a success.
Funding for the Legal Matters Housing Law Educational Forum is provided by the Mortgage Foreclosure Education Fund, F.S. 45.035(2)(a). Look for information about our next Legal Matters Forum in the coming months.

Hundreds Take Advantage of the Clerk's Inaugural Passport Week
Another event that just finished up at the Clerk’s Office was our inaugural Passport Week. As the name implies, we celebrated all things passports! Actually, the idea behind Passport Week was to offer extended business so our customers could apply for a new passport without having to take time off from school or work to do it.
The final numbers are in and it appears that hundreds of Orange County residents are planning vacations abroad this year. During the special week, we processed a total of 1,737 passport applications. And of those, 245 were processed specifically during our extended hours.
Bon voyage to all those who took advantage of Passport Week!

May Star Performer
Congratulations to Trial Clerk Cherie Estevez for being this month’s Star Performer. Cherie was not only selected for her commitment to the organization and knowledge, but also for going above and beyond each day and being an outstanding team player.
“Cherie is very active in volunteering to stay late for trial clerks who might need to stay late for a trial,” said a co-worker nominating Cherie. “She is always helpful, and demonstrates humility in all aspects of her work. Cherie is a role model for what a trial clerk should be, and with qualities such as kindness and compassion, I believe that Cherie embodies the essence of a Star Performer.”
